ISSA is pleased to welcome Makita back as a Gold Sponsor for the 2026 Cleaning & Hygiene Expo, taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 8 -9 October 2026.

A long-standing supporter of the Expo, Makita’s continued investment reflects its strong commitment to the cleaning and facility solutions industry, and its confidence in the event as a central hub for connection, insight and innovation.

“Welcoming Makita back to Melbourne is a real highlight for us,” ISSA Oceania manager Lauren Micallef says. “They’ve supported this event through its growth into the premier industry gathering it is today. Their ongoing involvement speaks volumes about both their commitment and the direction of the industry. We’re proud to have them alongside us again.”

For Makita, the decision to return as Gold Sponsor was straightforward. “This annual event provides a great opportunity for us to connect with the industry and demonstrate our support for the market,” Makita product manager OPE & CC (Outdoor Power Equipment & Commercial Cleaning) Stephen Keighley says. “As a returning Gold Sponsor, we’ve seen firsthand the value of engaging directly with attendees and highlighting the advantages of Makita’s cordless technology at this important industry event.”

Keighley adds that the Expo offers far more than brand visibility. “It gives us the opportunity to showcase how our expanding 18V and 40V XGT cordless solutions are helping commercial cleaning professionals improve productivity, enhance safety and reduce downtime,” he says. “Importantly, our BDR team is available for on-site visits and product demonstrations, allowing customers to see firsthand how Makita cordless solutions perform in real-world commercial environments.”

Returning to Melbourne, the 2026 Expo will feature two days of activity spanning the full breadth of the cleaning and facility solutions industry. The program includes a large-scale trade show floor, live product demonstrations and a comprehensive education program with both paid workshops and free sessions delivered on the show floor. Attendees can also look forward to the ISSA Excellence Awards, recognising outstanding product innovation, as well as key networking events, including the Women in Cleaning and Facility Solutions Breakfast.

With more than 2,500 attendees expected, the Expo will bring together building service contractors, facility managers, distributors and key decision-makers from across Australia and the region.

“With significant industry backing already secured, this year’s event is shaping up to be one of our strongest yet,” ISSA account manager Alicia Morgan says. “The confirmation of Makita, alongside a high‑calibre mix of returning and new brands, has accelerated demand. With less than 12 per cent of stand space remaining, companies considering exhibiting are encouraged to act quickly.”

Companies interested in exhibiting or exploring sponsorship opportunities are encouraged to act quickly, with limited stand space remaining.
