Total Facilities 2018 reveals speaker line-up

Topics to be addressed include understanding building compliance and the Internet of Things.

Total Facilities 2018 has revealed the first round of its speaker line-up for this year’s event, taking place at the Melbourne Exhibition Convention & Exhibition Centre from 18 to 19 April.

Topics to be addressed include understanding building compliance and how to reduce your ‘waste line’, the impact of humans on future work spaces and the impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on buildings.

Key issues will be addressed by experts including; Adam Beck, executive director at Smart Cities Council Australia & NZ; Alan Mihalic, cyber security advisor at Norman Disney & Young; Preeti Bajaj, VP commercial transformation & smart cities at Schneider Electric; and Nathan Sri, director workplace strategy & change at JLL.

The speaker series will run across two dedicated areas; the Business Solutions Stage and KONE Smart Buildings Theatre.

With improving energy standards and digital disruption set to dominate the speaker series, attendees at this year’s event should expect to see product launches that will help FMs save, better manage energy resources and protect themselves against an array of digital threats.

“According to industry research, IoT technologies will be more pervasive in smart commercial buildings than anywhere else over the next three years,” says Andrew Lawson, Total Facilities event manager.

“Highlighted with the Smart Zone, Total Facilities is designed to deliver visitors industry-class solutions and strategic advice on how to use technology and data to better understand and manage their building performance.”
