Education program announced for ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo

Program to feature 16 free to attend speaker sessions, plus onsite workshops and networking events.

The education program for the highly anticipated ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo has been announced, with an extensive line up of industry leaders set to address current market trends and challenges.

The ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo, hosted by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning association, will be held on 1-2 November at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

“The industry is excited to return to Melbourne and it is set to be the largest event to date” said Lauren Micallef, ISSA Oceania Manager.

The expo’s education program will take place over two days with 16 free to attend speaker sessions plus onsite workshops and networking events.

The program will cover a variety of topics that have been designed to provide attendees with the knowledge and tools to grow their business, develop their staff, and remain up to date with industry trends and emerging developments.

More broadly, the education program will ensure visitors from all areas of the cleaning and hygiene industry can receive practical advice from leading industry experts.

A variety of panel discussions between industry though leaders and stakeholders will expand the number of professionals that the audience can tap into on topics such as cleaning for health, technology and innovation, environmental and sustainability needs, governance issues, future trends, and workforce development.

For participants involved in contracting workers for cleaning commercial premises, the program will feature an essential sessionhighlighting labour hire licensing requirements and issues in the industry, presented by Labour Hire Licensing Commissioner, Steve Dargavel.

A key trend that will be addressed throughout the expo is ‘cleaning for health’. One of the highlights of the education program will be the “Clean and Thriving: Unleashing the Power of Your Cleaning for Health Story” workshop.

Delivered by Dr. Gavin Macgregor-Skinner Senior Director, Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), the workshop will delve into the importance of creating a healthy indoor environment through proper cleaning and maintenance practices.

“Knowing how to clean for health creates a safe environment for patients, visitors, and workers,” said Dr. Macgregor-Skinner.

In addition to the exhibition and education program, the expo will also feature the 2023 INCLEAN Excellence Awards. These awards celebrate the latest innovations and recognise outstanding achievements of people who work in the industry.

“Last year the awards received the largest number of entries to date, and we are expecting 2023 to be even bigger,” said Micallef.

Awards finalists will showcase their products in the Innovation Zone on the show floor, and the winners will be announced during the networking event on Wednesday 1 November, providing expo attendees with an exclusive opportunity to interact with industry leaders, forge valuable connections, and expand their network of business professionals.

In addition to the extensive lineup of speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities, the ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo 2023 will bring back the popular professional headshot sessions.

“This year, we are honoured to have renowned photographer Alan Moyle, a Master of Photography with over 20 years of experience in creating captivating images for businesses, joining us for this exclusive event,” said Micallef.

The headshot sessions will be split over two days during the Expo, offering attendees ample opportunities to enhance their business portfolio.

“This year’s event is a must-attend for anyone interested in advancing their knowledge and expertise in the cleaning sector. Attendees can connect with their peers, learn from experts, and discover the latest trends and innovations that are shaping the future of the industry,” said Micallef.
