Speaker program released for ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo

The ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo will house two education theatres.

The speaker program for the upcoming ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo has been released, with the event to feature a dedicated carpet and restoration theatre for the first time.

Day one of the ISSA Speaker Theater will include topics such as ‘Tackling the Unseen Contaminations’ presented by Bradley Prezant; ‘Transmission of Bacteria in Hospitals’ presented by Professor Iain Gosbell; ‘Digital Disruption – Good, Bad, Or Scary?’ by Monica Schlesinger and the ‘Future of Selling’ by Steve Claydon.

A healthcare panel on infection prevention will feature Professor Iain Gosbell,  Associate Dean (Academic) and chair of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology MBBS (USyd), MD (UNSW), FRACP, FRCPA, FASM;  Greg Pobjoy, Whiteley Corporation and Ash Jones, Complex Solutions – ARA Property Services.

Other presentations will include ‘Preparing Tenders for Cleaning Contracts’ by Brian Clark and ‘The Wellness Trend and its Impact on Building Services’ by Adam Garnys. The day will conclude with a technology panel where five industry experts will take on discuss how to take on the challenge of technological advancements in the market.

Day two will begin with the event’s keynote, former Wallabies captain John Eales. Karcher Australia’s Lucas Paris will discuss how to leverage robotic cleaning equipment; followed by Mark Diamond on ‘Tackling the Consequences of Sexual Harassment and Unfair Dismissals’.  A panel on the evolution of corporate culture will include Tavale Mahana, Mahana Culture; David Griss, Asaleo Care and Khadijah Bouabdullah, Scentre Group.

SRCP Speaker Theatre

The inaugural SCRP (Specialised Restoration & Cleaning Professionals) Speaker Theatre will focus on carpet cleaning, restoration and remediation. Day one presentations will  GECA’s Kate Harris on ‘The Importance of Green Certified Cleaning Products’; ‘The Science Behind Indoor Air Quality’ presented by Adam Garnys and ‘Preventative Maintenance’ presented by Roy Evans.

Day two topics include ‘Safe Handling and Use of Chemicals in the Cleaning Industry’ by Claire Bird; ‘Asbestos – The Hidden Danger in Restorations and Renovations’ presented by Paul Corry; ‘The Legalities of Sub-Contractin’g, Mark Diamond and ‘Taking the Guess Work out of Methamphetamine Screening and Testing’ presented by Brian Murphy.

The ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo, presented by ISSA and Interpoint Events, will be held 29 to 30 August at the ICC Sydney in Darling Harbour. The Expo will also be co-located with the Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE), presented by Diversified Communications Australia.
