ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo unveils speaker program

Modern Slavery Act, Aged Care Royal Commission and the future of cleaning among session topics.

Worldwide cleaning association ISSA and its local events partner Interpoint Events have unveiled the 2019 speaker program for the upcoming ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo.

The ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo is set to feature 28 education sessions across two theatres; the ISSA Speaker Theatre and the SRCP (Specialised Restoration & Cleaning Professionals) Speaker Theatre.

The ISSA Speaker Theatre will focus on general cleaning, health and sanitation industry, while the SRCP Speaker Theatre will centre on carpet care, remediation and restoration.

Both local and international leaders will share their knowledge and tools to grow a business, develop staff and assist attendees in remaining up to date with industry trends and developments.

Topics to be covered at the ISSA Speaker Theatre include:

  • Modern Slavery Act reporting
  • The Aged Care Quality and Safety Royal Commission
  • Data driven and autonomous cleaning
  • Winning cleaning and facilities tenders
  • Crisis management
  • Chemical management
  • The future of the cleaning industry

Topics to be covered at the SRCP Speaker Theatre include:

  • Understanding pH
  • Australian carpet trends
  • Methamphetamine decontamination
  • Mould remediation
  • The challenges of fire and smoke damage

For the first time this year two keynote speakers will present. Paralympian and OCS Services ambassador Dylan Alcott will present on Wednesday 23 October.

Former Australian cricketer Simon O’Donnell will present on Thursday, 24 October. O’Donnell will discuss the ingredients for success and the makeups of a winning team.

ISSA Oceania manager Lauren Micallef said the show’s extensive education program has been designed to provide the knowledge and tools to grow business, develop staff, remain up-to-date with industry trends, regulations and emerging developments.

This year, the ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo will co-locate with Waste Expo Australia, the largest and most comprehensive free-to-attend conference and exhibition for the waste management, resource recovery and wastewater treatment sectors.

Simon Cooper, managing director of Interpoint Events, said the co-location with Waste Expo Australia, which attracts more than 4000 visitors annually, provides opportunities for both attendees and exhibitors.

“We are really excited about this year’s co-location. There is a true educational synergy between these industries. There is much on offer and to gain for both our exhibitors and attendees.”

Visitors to the ISSA Cleaning and Hygiene Expo and Waste Expo Australia will have free access to both show floors and their extensive educational programs.

Run in partnership with ISSA and Interpoint Events, the ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo is the leading commercial cleaning trade in Australia. This year’s event will take place on 23-24 October 2019 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

The INCLEAN Innovation Awards will also be presented at the event, which showcase the latest innovative and progressive products and services within the cleaning industry.
