Reckitt named official hygiene partner of COP26

Reckitt named official cleaning partner of 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).

Reckitt, parent company of Reckitt Professional, has been named the official cleaning partner of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).

The two-week long conference, one of the largest in-person events to be held since the beginning of the pandemic, kicked off this weekend at the SEC Centre in Glasgow, Scotland.

In advance of COP26, Reckitt’s team of infection control experts teamed with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to help the event’s host, the United Kingdom Cabinet Office, reduce the spread of illness-causing germs.

The protocols developed will help protect the more than 25,000 delegates and world leaders in attendance.

In addition, Reckitt products will be used to clean and disinfect more than 50,000 hotspots in a conference space larger than 48 football fields.

“As the official hygiene partner for COP26, Reckitt is lending an unrivalled level of scientific and medical expertise to develop and implement hygiene protocols for a complex event designed around efficacy and sustainability,” said Dr. Lisa Ackerley, Reckitt global director of medical and scientific engagement, and hygiene.

“Our multifunctional team has risen to the challenge to deliver thousands of germ-killing interventions every hour across each zone throughout the conference together with strategically placed hand sanitiser stations to encourage hand hygiene as an important part of targeted hygiene.”
