Quayclean gears up for AFL triple header

Quayclean Australia to invest more than 2500 labour hours during triple header of AFL at Marvel Stadium this weekend.

Australian cleaning and presentation company Quayclean Australia, will invest more than 2500 labour hours to ensure footy fans enjoy their match day experience when Marvel Stadium hosts a triple header of AFL this weekend.

Quayclean is preparing for the avalanche of fans who will produce more than 40 tonnes of waste when Collingwood meets Port Adelaide on Friday night, Western Bulldogs host Richmond on Saturday, before Carlton faces North Melbourne on Sunday afternoon.

It is the second of four AFL triple headers scheduled for Marvel Stadium in 2019 and Quayclean CEO, Mark Piwkowski, said detailed planning is underway to ensure the venue is well prepared.

“The fans match day experience at the Stadium commences from the moment they walk through the turnstiles, and it is our responsibility to ensure all areas of the venue is presented in a clean, safe and welcoming manner,” said Piwkowski.

“This will involve over 2,00 hours of pre and post event cleaning to ensure the Stadium is ready for each match. This includes a tight turnaround from the Saturday night fixture where staff will work through the night and early morning to prepare the Stadium before the first bounce at 1.10pm on Sunday,” he added.

It is on these busy occasions where Quayclean’s operational skills and team shines, says Piwkowski.

“We have been developing our fully-employed workforce over the past five years with staff who know their work is judged by over 130,000 patrons. It is a great responsibility, but our team have amassed excellent skills and understand that the value of the patrons game day experience extends beyond the game itself,” he said.

Quayclean’s general manager Victoria, Tom Mills, said past AFL games provide great insight into what his staff can expect over the weekend.

“Friday night games have typically a party atmosphere where fans are celebrating the end of the working week with their friends and partners, and there is more waste associated with liquids,” says Mills.

“In contrast, the weekend games are more family orientated and there is more food waste. All waste is gathered and separated by Quayclean staff on site to ensure maximum levels of recycling,” he said.

“While each game is being played, our staff will be working behind the scenes emptying rubbish bins, mopping up spillages and refilling the 510 toilet cubicles with a total of around 1,850 rolls of toilet paper and 50 litres of hand soap over the weekend.”

At the same time games at C-Bus Super, The Gabba, Sydney Cricket Ground, Adelaide Oval, GMHBA Stadium, Lottoland and Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, all have games over a similar time making Quayclean operations a formidable Events presentation service in Australia.

Earlier this year in March the company Quayclean is one of the largest independent operators across the country, servicing  more than 90 major public venues across Australia and directly employs more than 1200 full-time, permanent part-time and casual labour personnel.was awarded a five-year cleaning and presentation contract to Adelaide Oval.
