An Essity nomination committee has proposed that Jan Gurander be appointed chairman of the company’s board of directors at its annual general meeting in March 2024.
Gurander had a long and successful career within the Volvo Group, starting as chief financial officer (CFO) in 2014.
He held the role of acting president and CEO for parts of 2015 and was appointed executive vice president and deputy CEO in 2016, a position he served in until leaving the company in 2022.
Gurander would succeed Pär Boman, who earlier this year declined re-election as chairman of the board of directors for Essity.
