Essity divests operations in Russia

Global hygiene and health company, Essity, has divested the entirety of the its operations in Russia.

Global hygiene and health company, Essity, has divested the entirety of the its operations in Russia.

In March this year, Essity announced the company planned on ceasing production and sales in Russia, which represents two percent of its total revenue.

The company took a writedown of approximately US$157 million of its assets in Russia in April.

Essity signed a sales agreement with an unnamed buyer, and the deal is expected to be finalised during the second quarter of 2023.
