GAMA Healthcare Australia (GAMA) has launched a new infection prevention and control campaign, reflecting on 50 years of infection prevention.
Suzanne Hammouche, CEO of GAMA Healthcare Australia said the campaign, ‘Look How Far We’ve Come’ is intended to help Australian hospitals, aged care, and other healthcare facilities to raise awareness of the best IPC practices and the hard work healthcare workers do daily in preventing infections.
As part of the campaign, GAMA will provide free IPC toolkits to Australian healthcare facilities to help educate and raise awareness of IPC best practices. The toolkit includes:
- Can you imagine if? posters
IPC playing cards - What kind of infection am I? playing cards
- 50 years of infection prevention staff stickers
- Hand wipes, pens, candies, etc.
Australian healthcare facilities can also participate in the Look How Far We’ve Come competition to help raise awareness of infection prevention.
To participate, facilities need to share what celebrating 50 years of infection prevention means, or give an example of an old infection prevention practice.
Ideas could be expressed as a poster, story, song, sculpture or painting, or a decorated department.
The campaign will also be supported on GAMA’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram) with the hashtag #LookHowFarWeHaveCome.
