Ecolab reports increase in third-quarter sales

Ecolab Inc reports third.

Ecolab Inc. has reported third-quarter net sales of US$3.95 billion, an increase of 8 per cent from $3.66 billion a year ago.

Ecolab’s third-quarter operating income increased to $566 million, up 17 per cent from $483 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

Sales in the company’s global institutional and specialty division jumped 12 per cent to $1.3 billion, while its global industrial division increased sales 4 per cent to $1.82 billion. Ecolab’s global healthcare and life sciences division saw sales climb 11 per cent to $400.7 million.

Christophe Beck, Ecolab chairman and CEO, said Ecolab continued to deliver very strong sales and earnings growth despite unpredictable macro conditions.

Consistent execution by our team drove further pricing, accelerating volume trends, and very strong organic operating income growth. Importantly, organic operating income margin continued to expand significantly, driven by robust gross margin expansion.”
