Spotless has appointment Martin Sheppard, presently a senior partner at KPMG, chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director.  As previously announced, incumbent CEO Bruce Dixon will retire from his executive duties on 31 December 2015.

‘In late April, a wide-ranging executive search was undertaken to assess global candidates with leading facilities management expertise and local candidates with demonstrated knowledge of Spotless’ major client sectors,’ noted the Spotless ASX announcement.

Sheppard will commence his role of CEO as soon as transition arrangements have been finalised.

“Following a thorough and competitive process, we’re delighted to announce that Martin has been appointed to lead Spotless through its next phase of growth,” said Spotless chairman Margaret Jackson.

“Martin has strong relationships with Australia’s largest and highest profile companies and government bodies. Having advised clients in both the public and private sectors and across industries including transport, logistics, retail, energy and natural resources industries, his knowledge spans a broad range of Spotless’ key client sectors.”

“Spotless will benefit from Martin’s experience in leading complex tenders, mergers and acquisitions and successful integration projects as we continue to pursue growth opportunities in line with our strategy. His professional services background ensures a good cultural fit when it comes to customer centricity and he has a great personal leadership style.”

Spotless noted Sheppard has experience managing large teams and has held multifaceted leadership roles at KPMG. He is a member of the firm’s national executive committee, and is the global chairman of KPMG’s global aviation group and partner in charge of audit in Victoria.

“Spotless is a business with an impressive reach across the Australian and New Zealand economies – serving and supporting major industries and employing more than 39,000 people. I’m excited by the opportunities that Spotless has to cement its leadership position and expand its service offering and footprint in the years ahead and I look forward to working with the team to achieve these objectives,” Sheppard said.
