Industry prepares for TYCD 2018

Thank Your Cleaner Day preparations underway as NZ initiative becomes global event.

More than 20 countries are expected to take part in the BSCNZ’s initiative Thank Your Cleaner Day this year as the event continues to gain global momentum.

Launched in New Zealand in 2015, Thank Your Cleaner Day, supported by Kärcher, will be held on Wednesday 17 October and celebrates the vital and valued contribution professional cleaners make to the community every day.

Since its launch, the day has gained global attention, with around 20 countries expected to participate this year including Canada, US, UK, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Australia.

Kärcher Australia’s Kellie Smith said it is vital to recognise the hard work cleaners do and let them know they are valued and appreciated.

“Cleaners work day, night and weekends to keep our working and living environments clean, safe and hygienic, often outside of normal working hours,” said Smith.

“We hope to see Thank Your Cleaner Day grow in awareness year on year and at Kärcher Australia, we aim to do all we can nationally to support and make this event one that we all celebrate annually.”

In previous years organisations such as Kärcher Australia have shown their recognition with various events and activities including brunches and morning teas for cleaning staff.

As part of this year’s event, Kärcher Australia has been providing marketing materials and ideas to support businesses to prepare for the day.
