On 13 December 2013 the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Oceania held its annual Certification Council meeting, which was an opportunity for IICRC instructors from Australia and New Zealand to come together and discuss IICRC developments, achievements and future plans.
IICRC CEO and president Patrick Winters joined the group remotely from the US to update the council on IICRC’s strategic plan. Instructors had the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
A presentation was given by Jason Twigg, CEO at Enviro Clean and Restoration New Zealand, who provided a report of the two-day instructors’ symposium held in the US in October and shared some interesting techniques for keeping students engaged in the classroom.
Jenny Boymal, IICRC’s International VP, provided information about the projects that IICRC is currently working on in Australia and there was a great deal of excitement about the technical journal that will be sent out to all certified firms. The IICRC Oceania team talked about service improvements made over the past 12 months for IICRC certified technicians and firms, as well as future projects for the region.
The Council meeting resulted in positive discussion and feedback, and IICRC Oceania looks forward to a productive year for its instructors and schools.
