The Lennox Institute’s Diploma of Management latest 2012/2013 course has seen some 276 graduate of whom 172 are female. Initially established in 2011 as a course designed to enhance the management skills of women employed in the building service contractor segment, the Diploma was in time extended to include males.

“This course has proved a huge success. It is demanding and requires students to extend themselves both in terms of time investment as well as course curricula,” explained Lennox Institute’s CEO Elaine Torode.

“Importantly, for many students this Diploma course is the start of life-long learning,” Torode emphasised.

Lennox hosted a number of graduation ceremonies across Australia, one of which was held late March at Curzon Hall, Marsfield (Sydney), and attended by INCLEAN.

Lennox’s general manager MLearning, Paul Morrall, welcomed graduates at the Sydney ceremony and acknowledged the very valued support received from industry organisations. He also noted that, due to government funding cuts, students had to complete their course work in a shorter than planned time frame.

In signalling constant change on the training front and the need to tap latent demand, Morrall said, “like other companies and organisations we are doing more for less.

“We have developed more cloud-based ‘e’ and ‘m’ learning in order to deliver courses and education in the most cost-effective manner.”

Those industry organisations involved in supporting the Diploma course included the Building Service Contractors Association of Australia, Construction & Property Services Industry Skills Council, the Australian Cleaning Contractors Alliance and State Training Services.

Service providers present at the Sydney ceremony included Glad Group, Concord Hospital, Havencab, Guardian Property Services, and Handley Cleaning Services. A & V Business Consulting’s Allan Livings was also in attendance.
