Detmold Group launches sustainability objectives

South Australian-based packaging company, Detmold Group, has officially launched its sustainability objectives.

South Australian-based packaging company, Detmold Group, has officially launched its sustainability objectives, coinciding with World Environment Day on 5 June.

The objectives will measure against six positive impact targets and will align with the principles of ‘The Detmold Way’, which articulates the business’ vision, purpose and mission.

“The sustainability objectives set by the Detmold Group showcase our strong commitment to sustainable packaging, which benefits out clients, their customers and most importantly the environment,” said Acting CEO, Sasha Detmold Cox (pictured).

The six sustainability objectives the Group aims to achieve by 2025 are:

  1. 100 per cent of products with Sustainable Packaging Guidelines applied
  2. 95 per cent of waste diverted from landfill across all production facilities
  3. 30 percent reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions per kg of product
  4. 80 per cent of fibre to be forestry-certified or contains recycled content, with no controversial sourced fibre
  5. 100 per cent of stock range that meets Towards 2025 Targets
  6. Three facilities using renewable energy

The targets are globally accepted strategies and standards that assist Detmold Group customers and distributors in becoming Australian Packaging Convenant Organisation (APCO) compliant, with two of the six directly aligning with the wider APCO targets.

The Detmold Group will provide the first annual report measuring against these targets at the end of the 2023 calendar year.
