BSC chief executive Lillian Small said that the awards program, the first for the building services industry in New Zealand for seven years, had been a major success.

“The industry within New Zealand has really got behind the CleanSweep Awards,” said Small. “Within the industry we know about that vital work, carried out day in day out and year round providing an essential service to Kiwi communities. However, the contribution made by our members often flies beneath the radar when it comes to public recognition.

“Such programs are also key to helping to lift the benchmark in industry standards, including in training, health and safety, environmental initiatives and innovation. I want to thank our Diamond sponsor Staples New Zealand together with fellow sponsors Sealed Air Diversey Care, Kimberly-Clark Professional, Lynn River and INCLEAN for making this possible.”

Entries to the awards were open to members of BSC and key criteria included health and safety, cleaning standards, innovation, communication, client relationships and satisfaction, and staff management.
