With its Excellence Awards’ initiative growing strongly, the Building Service Contractors Association of Australia NSW division has decided to open the 2011 Awards to all BSCAA NSW and ACT, and Australian Cleaning Contractors Association members.

“The BSCAA NSW Division has hosted an Excellence Awards function for the past three years and the momentum keeps growing,” noted executive director Barbara Connolly.

“The event is in the main about recognising and rewarding the people on the floor, the cleaners swinging the mops and cleaning the toilets, usually after staff have vacated the building; and the security guard standing for hours in the cold and dark, protecting your property.

“These are the people without whom the contractor cannot run his business. The appreciation when recognition is given for their efforts is a feel good experience for everyone,” she added.

AustralianSuper, the industry superannuation fund, now supports the Excellence Awards nationally. In NSW Hako Australia sponsors the Young Manager of the Year Award and Agar Cleaning Systems sponsors the Company of the Year Award.

Cleaners Warehouse, Clearchoice Products, CRM Brokers, Diversey, INCLEAN, Karcher, Lennox Institute, PowerSweep, Rapid Group and Tennant also generously lend their sponsorship backing.

The Awards will be presented at a luncheon to be held on Thursday 20 October 2011, at Curzon Hall, Marsfield.

Nomination forms will be posted to BSCAA and ACCA members past and present within the next week or two and will be available on the BSCAA NSW website.

“Your staff are your greatest asset, recognise their value and reward their effort,” Connolly emphasised.
