Organisers of the World Federation of Building Services Contractors (WFBSC) congress have secured a global player in the digital world and a representative of the world’s largest building services contractor to speak at the upcoming congress, taking place 18 to 20 September 2017.

The inclusion of David Williams from Microsoft’s Digital Applied Innovation Team and Peter Ankerstjerne, marketing director of the ISS Group in the list of speakers are among the highlights of the finalised program for the 22nd WFBSC congress.

Under the heading: Cleaning in the digital world – processes, people, technology – the WFBSC congress will take place in Hall 7.3 on the Berlin Exhibition Ground.

It will be held parallel for the first time with the international cleaning trade fair CMS Berlin – Cleaning.Management. Services, taking place 19 to 22 September 2017.

Digitisation changes the workplace

Under the heading of Smart Cleaning deserves Smart Buildings, David Williams will talk about building automation and its impact on the industry.

For example, will changes in user behaviour influence the services of the future in far-reaching ways? How can one create an outstanding workplace experience based on digitised FM service processes? These are some of the issues that Peter Ankerstjerne will address in his paper, from the viewpoint of the world’s largest building services contractor. He will be highlighting revolutionary changes, the result of new technologies and different occupations at the workplace of tomorrow.

The congress will also provide an opportunity to examine the socio-political impact of digitisation. Eddie Stam is the divisional head of Cleaning/ Safety / Building Cleaning Services at the trade union federation UNI Global Union. In his paper entitled ‘Augmented Work’ he will examine the impact the digital transition is having on the workplace.
