After steering Rapid Group Co-operative Ltd through more than three years of transformation and expansion, CEO Wayne Hill has confirmed he will retire in October 2026.
Hill will officially conclude his tenure at the close of the RapidClean Australia & New Zealand Conference in Brisbane, where members, suppliers and industry partners will have the chance to acknowledge his contribution to the cooperative and to the wider commercial cleaning sector.
Rapid Group chairman David Thyne said Hill’s leadership had guided the organisation through a period of significant change while deepening relationships across its national Member network.
“Wayne has provided outstanding leadership during his time as CEO. His strategic vision, collaborative approach and unwavering commitment to our Members have helped strengthen the cooperative and position Rapid Group for the future,” Thyne said.
He added that Hill leaves the business in an exceptionally strong position and thanked him on behalf of the Board and Members for his dedication, professionalism and passion.
Building on strong foundations
Throughout his tenure, Hill worked closely with members, suppliers and the head office team to expand the cooperative’s national capabilities while holding firm to its founding values of local ownership, collaboration and member success.
He will continue in the role until October, ensuring a smooth handover and ongoing support for members while the Board orchestrates the search for a new chief.
The Board has already begun the succession process and is focused on appointing a leader who can build on the foundations Hill has established, continuing the cooperative’s trajectory of growth and member-focused service.
Hill’s departure marks the end of a tenure defined by collaboration and steady expansion, and the cooperative’s national network now looks ahead to the next phase of its development under new leadership.
