Passed away 28th June 2011, aged 65

What a man, what a mate, and what a human being. All those who knew Reg Carruthers were blessed with having that pleasure. Every industry needs a few more “Reggies”, always putting his hand up to help.

Reg is survived by his wonderful wife Sue and children Anthony, Penny, and Sophie.

As a long time principal of Peter Johnson (QLD) Pty Ltd, Reg was the ‘Sabco Man’, having that brand agency for many years until a change of Sabco’s corporate ownership. Peter Johnson QLD’s main business then turned more to supplying hardware stores and it was expanding, having recently moved to new premises.

When Peter Johnson’s Sydney head office experienced some tough times, Reg and some fellow staff members purchased the Queensland branch.

In recent months their business was booming and at a time when Reg was supposed to be slowing down he was tackling new challenges with vigour.

In the ‘Sabco years’ Reg was involved in the Queensland NCSA and participated in its meetings, served on the board and in his inimitable style helped when and wherever he could.

We are going to miss you mate.
