It is with great sadness we advise the passing of Jennifer (Jenny) Coxen on Friday 15 May, 2015 following a long battle against liver disease. She fought a hard battle especially over the last six months in which she was hospitalised. Jenny leaves behind her husband of 28 years and fellow company director Peter; daughter Jackie, son Anthony and step-daughters Elissa and Julia; along with three grandchildren – Blair, Dominique and Savannah.

Peter and Jenny Coxen, having started Coxen Chemicals Pty Ltd back in 1983, worked side by side for 22 years building and developing the business up to where it is today, one of the most recognised names of the cleaning supply businesses in the North Queensland region.

Both Peter and Jenny were heavily involved with the original Rapid Group, then helped establish The Blue Store Group, both of which were successful buying groups in the early days of Coxen Chemicals Pty Ltd.

They retired in December 2005 to enjoy life at a more relaxed pace on their property located at Japoonvale (a 20 minute drive south of Innisfail) where they grew exotic tropical fruit trees.

Unfortunately in March 2006, they got ‘Larried’ (Cyclone Larry), then in 2011 they got ‘Yasied’ (Cyclone Yasi) – both of which destroyed about 90 percent of their fruit trees. So much for retirement!!

They did get the opportunity to travel to Europe, Canada, the UK and Ireland prior to the start of Jenny’s illness.

Jenny was hard but fair. Beneath the rough exterior beat a kind heart.

She will be greatly missed but never forgotten by Peter and her family, the staff at Coxen Chemicals Pty Ltd and her many friends she met throughout the industry over her 32 years in business.
