Grime stoppersThe cleaner’s union United Voice has released the names of shopping centres nominated by the public as ‘Australia’s dirtiest’ according to votes from its Grimewatch website.

The tongue-in-cheek campaign was designed to help ‘name and shame the shopping centres and cleaning contractors who continue to force brutal workloads on the cleaners who simply want the time they need to do their jobs properly,’ states the website.

According to the Union 586 people from across the country took part in a public online vote to ‘determine their choice for the filthiest food court, the most disgusting shopping mall toilets and the dirtiest shopping centre overall’.

This action follows the results from a hygiene audit organised by United Voice and conducted by forensic cleaning expert Peter Geurin earlier in the year.
