TBC Distribution eyes expansion

NSW-based supplier to launch dust suppression solution for the mining industry.

New South Wales-based cleaning and hygiene products supplier, TBC Distribution, is set to expand nationally with the launch on a new dust suppression solution designed for the mining industry.

Details of the new product manufactured under its own brand name are being kept under wraps until the official launch on Thursday 10 October.

TBC Distribution managing director Shane Leigh said after supplying cleaning and hygiene solutions to local mine sites for many years he saw a gap in the market.

“Our job is not to supply products; it is to provide solutions that reduce the risk of worker injury. We’re here to help our customers ensure safety compliance.

“I could see that working with a bulky 1000 litre intermediate bulk container (IBC) wasn’t ideal. A forklift was required to transport it and there was always a risk of an accidental puncture and hence a chemical spill,” Leigh said.

“Our product is a concentrated solid block that weights no more than 600g. It’s safe and easy to handle. And because a forklift is not required, the crew can get to work faster.”

The new product has been independently trialled at the Dendrobium and Appin Mine sites in NSW for the past eight months.

The product is also undergoing trials at Cadia Mine in Orange, and several mine sites located in Central Queensland.

TBC Distribution is launching the new dust suppression solution nationally to
offer the product to the entire mining industry as well as other sectors including oil and gas, civil construction, city councils, railroad, military and more.

“We are excited to take this new product beyond our region and onto a national and potentially international scale,” Leigh said.
