SIMPPLE Australia has completed a landmark rollout of autonomous cleaning robots across New Zealand’s retirement living sector. Delivered in partnership with New Zealand technology company Mode Technology, the deployment represents the largest robotic fleet ever implemented in the country’s aged care and retirement facilities.
More than 80 sites across the nation are now operating SIMPPLE’s robotic cleaners. Equipped with advanced sensors and artificial intelligence, the machines are designed to navigate complex environments with precision, raising the standard of hygiene while reducing the physical burden on staff who traditionally handle labour-intensive floor cleaning. The value of the agreement remains confidential.
SIMPPLE chief executive Norman Schroeder said the achievement highlighted the strength of the company’s partnership with Mode Technology, announced in late 2024.
“We are incredibly proud to see our robots deployed at scale across New Zealand,” Schroeder said in a statement. “Together with Mode Technology, we are delivering intelligent cleaning solutions that create safer and cleaner environments for residents. This rollout is the largest of its kind in New Zealand’s history.”
Mode Technology director Dallas Vincent said the collaboration reflected a step change in how aged care facilities approach hygiene and staff support.
“This contract and deployment show the real transformation robotics can bring,” Vincent said. “Our partnership with SIMPPLE has enabled retirement facilities to adopt cutting-edge automation that eases the pressure on staff, strengthens hygiene practices and ultimately improves the living experience for residents.”
