Serco has secured a renewed contract with the NSW Department of Education, reinforcing its commitment to delivering safe, healthy and clean learning environments for students, teachers and staff across northern Sydney.
Serco has celebrated the renewal of its contract to provide cleaning services to schools, TAFEs and government facilities across northern Sydney, marking a continuation of work that began in 2018. The contract underscores Serco’s reputation for delivering consistent, high-quality cleaning operations that support safe and healthy learning spaces for students and staff.
Serco general manager Dave Reynolds recognises the company’s workforce for achieving the successful rebid. “A big thanks goes out to the entire team for this great result. This successful renewal is a testament to our people. On average, our fantastic cleaners have been with us for seven years. This impressive tenure reflects their dedication and the positive, well-supported working environment we continuously strive to deliver,” Reynolds says.
He adds that Serco’s cleaning staff are highly valued by the school communities they serve, noting that many enjoy flexible careers that allow them to thrive while making a tangible impact on students’ daily experiences. “We are proud that our cleaning team are highly valued and loved by their school communities, and enjoy careers characterised by flexibility and support that allow them to thrive,” Reynolds said.
Commitment to safe, high-quality learning
The renewed contract allows Serco to continue its central role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety and overall quality of learning environments across NSW. The company thanked the NSW Government for its trust and for the opportunity to remain a partner in supporting education institutions.
Serco emphasises that the success of its cleaning operations relies on both the dedication of its staff and the support structures in place to ensure they can perform at their best. Through consistent standards, training and a focus on staff wellbeing, Serco aims to deliver environments where students can learn and teachers can work with confidence.
Looking ahead, Reynolds reaffirms Serco’s commitment to the ongoing partnership with NSW education facilities. “We remain proudly committed to supporting the NSW Government’s goal of ensuring students and teachers across the state have ongoing access to clean, safe and high-quality learning environments,” he says. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with all our valued education institutions.”
