The Trade Show & Restoration Best Practices event marks the first time the RIA’s S500 Workshop and Project and Risk Management Course will be offered in Australia.

The three-day conference will be held in three locations; Brisbane (31 August to 2 September), Sydney (5 to 7 September) and Melbourne (8 to 10 September), and will focus on the latest updates and trends in the industry.

The event will offer tailored educational content, a vendor experience, including product demonstrations, and networking opportunities geared towards helping participants gain further experience and knowledge from thought leaders in the global restoration industry.

Courses offered at each city include the S500 Workshop (developed and taught by Mickey Lee, S500 Consensus Body Chair) and the Project and Risk Management course, an eligible pre-requisite for RIA’s certification programs that has never been taught in Australia before.

Course Overview

Day 1 – New S500 Update Seminar & Tradeshow
Each seminar will go through changes that will affect the way materials are now recommended to be dried, calculations for dehumidification, air movement, application of heat, and science that includes vapour pressure of materials.

Those attending this presentation will have a good understanding of the critical changes, why they were needed, impact on the industry and their businesses. It is recommended that those attending should have their own digital subscription or printed copy of the 4th edition of IICRC S500 that allows them to highlight and take notes.

Day 2 & 3 – RIA Project and Risk Management
This two-day course is a prerequisite for those pursuing their advanced certifications, either for the Certified Restorer (CR) or Water Loss Specialist (WLS), it is also open to those who want to obtain continuing education credit and advance their professional knowledge.

Instructed by one of the industries most decorated trainers, attendees will be able to develop an understanding of the fundamental principles of project management and how to apply them to restoration projects to profitably produce quality products and services within industry accepted parameters and project constraints.
