O’Burtill said RapidClean’s NT primary target market will be Indigenous organisations, with the store also to have a minimum of 50 per cent Indigenous staff. “We’ll work to our strengths and our strengths will be to work with [Indigenous] organisations to start with and then we will target government.”

Next for RapidClean NT is a digital presence, expected to be live by mid-year. Longer term O’Burtill plans to move into a larger facility in Darwin. “We currently have a small showroom but our plan is to grow the business over the next three years in the location that we’re in. After that we’ll look to expand into a larger location, with bigger showroom facilities.”

RapidCleanNT completes network

Rapid Group general manager Bruce Lees said the new store completes RapidClean’s national footprint.

“We are very excited to support Principal Products on this joint venture with Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation. Principal Products are long standing members of RapidClean and the owner Steve O’Burtill has vast industry experience and knowledge. Our Group is wholly Australian owned and has 50 stores throughout Australia but we were previously unrepresented in Darwin,” Lees said.

“This joint venture now completes our national footprint and enables us to compete with multinational companies to supply national contracts. The Rapid Group will assist the joint venture with purchasing power and technical support to aid with securing new business.”
