Having built a longstanding partnership with the Sydney Showground that includes day-to-day event cleaning, waste management and recycling services for the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show, Quayclean Australia has confirmed its continued backing of the Royal Agricultural Society Foundation’s Rural Scholarship program, naming Oakley Lucas from Camden Haven and Abby Wilson from Dubbo among its 2026 recipients.
Designed to support regional and rural students across a diverse range of tertiary study and training pursuits, the scholarships assist those studying at a recognised university or TAFE who hold a genuine desire to give back to regional NSW. Quayclean, a leading Australian-owned cleaning, waste management and hygiene services company, says it’s proud to be an ongoing supporter of the program and delighted to assist Lucas and Wilson with costs associated with their full-time studies.
Two students, two fields, one shared drive
Now in her third year of a Bachelor of Diagnostic Radiography at the University of Newcastle, Lucas has a strong interest in medical imaging and patient care, and is passionate about developing her skills in the field. Outside her studies, she enjoys drawing, snorkelling and snowboarding.
Wilson, meanwhile, is a third-year Bachelor of Physiotherapy student at Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie with a strong commitment to learning and helping others, and Quayclean is proud to support her scholarship for a second successive year. Beyond university, she enjoys the beach, swimming and CrossFit, activities that help keep her active and balanced, and she places great value on family and time spent with loved ones.
Aiming to build strong, vibrant and resilient regional and rural communities, while enhancing skills availability across the state, the RASF Rural Scholarships help enable post-high school education and training for rural NSW students, according to RAS Foundation Manager Cecilia Logan.
“Abby and Oakley have demonstrated a passion for rural issues and these scholarships are designed to assist with expenses associated with accommodation, textbooks and other materials and allow them to focus on their studies,” Logan says.
Having witnessed first-hand the contribution regional men and women make to NSW and Australia through the outstanding work of Quayclean’s teams at the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show, Quayclean Chief Executive Mark Piwkowski congratulated the pair on their scholarships.
“We are honoured to continue as a RAS Foundation partner to assist Oakley and Abby with their tertiary education studies and allow them to give back and help shape regional and rural NSW communities,” Piwkowski says.
