Held 15 to 16 May at Eastern Creek NSW, Sydney Dragway, CIVENEX 2013 showcased the latest innovations in civil works, construction, machinery, water and sewer, trucks, waste, cleaning equipment and more. It’s the exhibition for owners, operators, councils, public utility or private contractors to see all the latest products and serves at the one event.

Tennant Company’s stand was easily identified with its signature teal logo alongside its recently acquired Green Machines. First on display was the 500ze, ‘the first in a new generation of electric sweepers’. The suction and sweeping performance of the battery powered 500ze is equal to a compact sweeper but it emits no carbon or exhaust emissions and can operate non-stop for eight hours without charging. There was also a demonstration of the GRV Gum Removal Vehicle which can eradicate up to 700 pieces of chewing gum using less than three litres of water converted to steam.

Karcher was excited to launch its MC 50 Advanced Municipal Vacuum Sweeper at the show – solely dedicated to inner city cleaning. ‘It combines outstanding sweeping and suction results with great agility thanks to its articulated steering and state of the art drive and operating comfort’. Features include a demountable, straight suctions hose to minimise blockages, tool-free quick change system and a fully-glazed cabin with panoramic view for optimum viewing.

SCEV Specialised Cleaning Eco Vehicles was new to CIVENEX this year with its environmentally-friendly mini electric garbage collector and compactor vehicle on display. The vehicle is specially designed to offer greater waste collection services in a wide range of outdoor areas from industrial parks, stadiums, shopping malls, amusement parks, universities, council streets and more.

Steamaster had its Silent Master Hot Water Pressure Washer on display and demonstration for all the visitors to the stand – and it was so quiet that a conversation could be held right next to the machine – living up to its slogan ‘more power, less noise’ and marketed as ‘one of the quietest hot water pressure washers on the market’. Australian made, Steamaster’s Tam Le said it’s not only quiet, but tough, reliable and built to last.

Hako Australia had its infamous orange branding across the stand with its outdoor city cleaning range taking centre stage as it launches the Citymaster 1250 in Australia. The Citymaster 1250 Citycleaner ‘has been tailor-made to meet the high demands placed on professional street and footpath cleaning. As an articulated compact sweeper it can be easily converted to an aggressive, large capacity scrubber’.
