OCS suppliers focus on sustainability in cleaning sector

“We’re increasingly seeing companies changing their way of thinking as to how they create value through sustainability over the long term."

The future of work, behavioural economics and biodiversity were just a few of the topics covered in OCS NZ’s supplier forum on sustainability, held in Auckland on Wednesday 11 October.

Abbie Reynolds from the Sustainable Business Council

OCS NZ released its Sustainability Report earlier this year, as the company strives to become the most sustainable business in the cleaning industry by 2020.

“We’re continuing to test ourselves and set the bar high in order to ensure a legacy for the next generation,” said OCS managing director Gareth Marriott.

“It’s important to share our vision with our suppliers and partners and explore ways that we can work together to achieve this.”

Nearly 50 suppliers heard from Sustainable Business Council executive director, Abbie Reynolds, who spoke about her organisation’s vision for a sustainable future.

Reynolds said sustainability in business is about doing the right thing and finding the balance between people, environment and profit.

“We’re increasingly seeing companies changing their way of thinking as to how they create value through sustainability over the long term,” said Reynolds.
