OCS NZ boss Gareth Marriott has been appointed to the newly created role of managing director for New Zealand and Australia.

The company said the move will “bring greater integration to [its] Australian and New Zealand businesses”.

Marriott, who was formally appointed managing director of NZ in 2016, will be supported by a regional executive team to manage the company’s hygiene, facilities management, cleaning and waste services in Australia and in New Zealand.

Commenting on the announcement, OCS Group CEO Peter Slator said the appointment will allow OCS to develop its Pacific operations.

“Gareth has a wealth of experience, strong relationships, and a good knowledge of OCS across Australia and New Zealand, having worked in both territories since he joined us in 2012,” Slator said.

Marriott will be spending the coming months meeting with customers, employees and suppliers.

He will split his time between Sydney, Perth and New Zealand and says he’s looking forward to getting reacquainted with the Australian business.

Explaining his approach to the new role, Marriott said: “It will be business as usual in both countries, with a key focus being spending time with or Australian employees, customers and suppliers to understand where they see improvements that can be made. There won’t be any immediate changes, other than ensuring we can continue to deliver outstanding services across the board.”

Operating in Australia since 1998, OCS delivers a range of services to businesses throughout Australia including commercial cleaning, hygiene washroom services, waste management and asset maintenance.

The company has more than 1000 staff with the headquarters based in Perth.  OCS Australia has a comprehensive network of branches in Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.

In New Zealand, OCS is the number one soft service company with more than 4000 staff, 147 contractors and 25 branches nationwide.
