Kärcher and BSCAI celebrate Thank Your Cleaner Day

Kärcher and the Building Services Contractors Association International (BSCAI) recently celebrated Thank Your Cleaner Day on Wednesday 19 October 2016.

To recognise the millions of hardworking professionals around the globe who keep workplaces clean and safe, Kärcher and the Building Services Contractors Association International (BSCAI) recently celebrated Thank Your Cleaner Day on Wednesday 19 October 2016.
“Sick and injured employees cost businesses billions of dollars a year in health costs and lost productivity,” said BSCAI CEO Chris Mundschenk. “Our industry’s dedicated cleaners play a key role in combatting the spread of germs and illness while minimising interruption to employees.”
Thank Your Cleaner Day was first celebrated in 2015 by Kärcher New Zealand in partnership with the Building Services Contractors of New Zealand (BSCNZ).

In the United States, Kärcher North America teamed up with BSCAI to encourage businesses and employees to express their appreciation of their own onsite cleaning staff.
“Many of the individuals who keep our workplaces clean and safe do so in the evenings and on weekends, and thus do not cross paths with those who benefit,” sated Kärcher North America CEO Hannes Saeubert. “Thank Your Cleaner Day was established to encourage ourselves and others to recognise the dedicated professionals we depend on and the valuable service they provide.”
Office managers and employees were encouraged to share materials such as facts, videos and information on cleaning practices in their workplace and on social media with #thankyourcleanerday to help raise awareness of the value workplace cleaners provide and encourage others to express their gratitude.
