The contract will see ISS expand its presence at Melbourne Airport, where it has operated for the past 14 years delivering security services at Terminals 2, 3 and 4. ‘The new WSO contract commenced on 1 February 2016 and sees ISS managing the safety and security of all airside activities’.

“Our long-standing presence at Melbourne Airport allowed us to offer an integrated solution for APAM, with established support functions and one expert management team onsite,” commented ISS executive general manager aviation and transport Greg Gately.

“This ensures low-risk, flexibility and consistent service standards for our valued customer.”

ISS’ proposed a WSO services strategy that aligned with APAM’s commercial objectives and was low-risk and cost-effective with a high emphasis on enhancing the passenger experience. After running the contract for several months, ISS has received positive client feedback in regards to ‘the smooth transition, people management and WSO operations.

“The transition from the previous WSO contractor to ISS went smoothly with the risks to our capital program fully mitigated,” said Melbourne Airport manager of airfield operations and compliance Kerr Forbes.

“This is a great demonstration of ISS’ capability in ably transitioning and managing integrated facility contracts, which brings better value for aviation customers.”
