The Cleaning Council WA (CCWA) Supplier Showcase was held 13 March 2012 at the Saint Hotel Innaloo with 120 registered delegates and more signing up at the door. As Western Australia’s only trade show for the cleaning industry, the atmosphere was alive and buzzing.
The showcase featured displays from over 30 suppliers as well as key government bodies including the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) and the Department of Commerce.
The department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) presented a ‘how to tender for government’ workshop – one of four that delegates could attend, which also covered topics of the CCWA training program and business skills.
“The motivation behind the showcase was to raise the CCWA profile within and outside of the industry, as well as to collect data about who is active within the industry,” commented CCWA president Shannon Daniels. “It’s really about engaging with the industry, seeking that data and offering benefit to our supplier members.”
It was a unanimous agreement among attending delegates that a WA trade show was long overdue and many were eager to participate and represent their business and support the industry ‘in their own backyard’.
“As the go to authority for all matters cleaning, we are pleased to provide a forum in which local operators can network with local suppliers and sharpen their business skills,” said Daniels.
The Supplier Showcase is just the start of WA’s breakthrough into the trade show scene with AUSCLEAN WA, supported by the CCWA, set to hit Perth 19 and 20 March 2013 – www.auscleanwa.com.au
