The Institute of Hospitality in HealthCare Ltd (IHHC) is inviting national and international participation in its Topical Topics in the Tropics Conference by submitting an abstract to present at its annual national conference to be held in Cairns, North Queensland, 12 to 14 September 2012.
The conference, themed ‘Innovative Practice in Healthcare Hospitality and Support Services’, aims to provide a platform to showcase innovation in hospitality and support services in healthcare; and share information about practical innovations in healthcare that have demonstrated outcomes in the areas of non-clinical operational innovation.
The event will also determine the winner of the Innovative Practice in the Hospitality and Support Services Award for 2012. It carries a prize of $1,000 to the winning presentation and $250 to the runner up.
All abstracts selected for presentation will be eligible for this award; the recipient will be selected by conference participants.
Innovative practice need not necessarily involve major projects – practical solutions to common problems will also be considered for presentation.
Abstracts are being sought in three major categories:
*Hospitality/Support Services Operational Innovations (food services, cleaning, porterage/orderly, environmental/carbon footprint/global warming/natural disasters)
*Strategic Innovations (ie. leadership, change management/management restructures, staff management, discrimination laws and how to protect yourself etc)
*Innovations in Education, Training Systems for Mandatory Training (food safety, manual handling, fire, evacuation, infection control etc)
