In the next few years RapidClean’s growth and achievements will dwarf what has been achieved so far in its 17 year history. That telling statement reflects how much the Group has achieved in very recent years in terms of building a robust and profitable business.“Our Group now continues to grow year in and year out,” emphasised chairman Robert Cappello when welcoming members and suppliers to the RapidClean Conference 2011, held at Melbourne’s Parkview Hotel mid-October.

“This year, for the first time, we have delivered back 100 percent of rebates to our members; that’s a great thing for our Group and our members,” he emphasised.

Cappello recognised the strides RapidClean has made under general manager Bruce Lees… “it’s through his efforts that we are where we are today.”

In an address titled the Future Direction of RapidClean, Lees observed that the Group is built on a solid foundation; its administrative processes are tight; and supplier ranks have been fine tuned.

Continuing the upbeat tenor, Lees noted that “members have supported suppliers to even higher levels. The future is very bright.”

In pure dollar terms, RapidClean has doubled last year’s profits.

Lees stressed that in going to market, RapidClean has no competitors in terms of being able to deliver the same service and skill sets. The sales push will be further fuelled when a national accounts manager is recruited in 2012.

“All members can help with the Group’s national account ambitions,” stated Lees. He encouraged members to assess their client bases for national account potential.

In a reprise of RapidClean’s active marketing programme, Lees outlined the Group’s advertising programme (print and television); sponsorships (BSCAA); catalogues (print and digital); product branding (RapidClean brand is expanding);  website presence (primarily to direct business to members); and exhibitions.

'Speed dating' proved educational as well as profitable

An important, and novel, feature of this year’s conference was the implementation of ‘speed dating’, whereby every supplier was able to address each member on a one-on-one basis. It proved most successful.

In wrapping up the Conference, Lees stressed, “Two things are critical to RapidClean’s future, they are pride (in the Group) and cooperation (with the Group and its suppliers).”
