Harnessing the power of steam

Steam has evolved from cleaning greasy railways to becoming one of the most advanced and eco-conscious cleaning solutions of the 21st century.

Dating back to the late 1800s, steam was used to remove oil and grime from trains, ships and heavy vehicles. Early systems used boilers that left surfaces wet and vulnerable to mould. But about 40 years ago, European manufacturers developed a more refined process using superheated, low-moisture steam to clean and sanitise without the risk of water damage.

Fast-forward to today, and steam cleaning has gone far beyond industrial use. Modern units use pressurised dry vapour that heats water past boiling point to create powerful steam jets. These jets break down dirt, grease and stains, while killing bacteria, mould spores, dust mites and allergens – without the need for harsh chemicals.

Steam cleaning is now widely used in homes, restaurants, hotels and hospitals. It’s ideal for disinfecting fabric without damage and leaves no wet residue, making it perfect for hygienic environments. With attachments like round brushes for upholstery, nozzles for corners and mop heads for floors, steam cleaners have become incredibly versatile.
