Godfreys CEO Kathy Cocovski has resigned from her role due to personal reasons after only six months in the position.

Cocovski, who began her career at Myer in 1978, was appointed CEO in January.’

Today she was replaced by Godfrey’s former senior executive director and current non-executive director John Hardy, who will become interim managing director effective immediately.

“We are naturally disappointed Kathy has, for personal reasons, decided to resign after such a short period as CEO,” said Godfreys chairman Rod Walker.

“She has made significant inroads in making the fundamental changes Godfreys needs to set a course for improved long term performance.”

‘Mr Hardy has more than 50 years’ experience in retail, with several decades at Godfreys, progressing from the role of door-to-door salesman to sales manager and senior executive.’

“We are totally confident the leadership of Godfreys is in strong hands with the appointment of retail industry veteran John Hardy as interim managing director,” added Mr Walker.

“Having previously spent several decades in senior management positions at Godfreys and having served for just over three months as a director this year John will hit the ground running as interim managing director.

“He brings recognised turnaround skills to the company and extensive retail experience
spanning several decades across a range of different retail formats.”
