The Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick will be starting construction of a new, five-storey wing which, according to the www.schf.org.au website, ‘will cover 1220 metres squared over five floors and will cost $27.7 million to construct. It will add valuable resources to the services already available, as well as creating brand new amenities for patients and their families.’

Integrated property services company Glad Group is one of the companies that have contributed towards the wing’s construction with a $10,000 donation.

‘The new hospital wing will house a 28-bed surgical ward, a comprehensive rehabilitation unit, a family centre for parents and carers, a lung function testing facility, a much needed eight-bed child and adolescent mental health unit and a new child care protection unit.’

The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation will acknowledge Glad Group’s donation by placing a brick labelled ‘Glad Group’ in the entrance of the new wing.

Glad Group’s managing director Nick Iloski said he was proud the company could make a contribution to the creation of such a critical facility and be part of a new era in healthcare.

The new hospital wing is due to open 2013.
