Reflecting its ongoing commitment to internal R & D, Whiteley Corporation has opened (23 July) an expanded Research and Development Laboratory facility at its Tomago (Newcastle NSW) manufacturing base.

Whiteley points out that it has a long history as one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of disinfectants for healthcare and industrial cleaning products. It’s an Australian, family-owned company, that has served the Australian market for more than 78 years.

In 1995, Whiteley transferred its manufacturing to a purpose built, world class facility at Tomago, from its original site at Chippendale (Sydney). The Tomago site is a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and SAI Global licensed plant.

The R & D Laboratory and office extension ‘have been in progress for 12 months and the expansion offers increased capacity for the Award-winning R & D team.

‘R&D is a major focus at Whiteley Corporation, with resources dedicated to internal research as well as funding external research conducted in collaboration with a number of Universities. The R & D Team continues to focus on new and improved products, often resulting in international patents,’ stated the company.

Whiteley believes the R & D focus is as rewarding to the company as it is to its customers; with better research resulting in better products and better products means better outcomes for customers.

In attendance at the opening was founding chairman Reginald Whiteley and new director Phil Morgan. Reg Whiteley continues to have an active and intimate involvement in the business while his son Greg Whiteley is the managing director.
