With a busy schedule of regular events, the South East Queensland Professional Housekeepers Association (SEQPHA) delivers an ongoing program of education and networking opportunities for executive housekeepers. Its most recent get together was a monthly breakfast held at The Point Hotel, Brisbane, with some 35 members and guests in attendance.
“We have a very active Association that is proving increasingly valuable for executive housekeepers and other executives in similar hospitality roles,” noted SEQPHA’s treasurer Melissa Bent. “The Association is also an important education and training link between suppliers and executive housekeepers.
“Generally we have the breakfast meetings in Gold Coast hotels and we have guest speakers who address our members on pertinent topics,” she added.
An upcoming SEQPHA event is a site visit and breakfast at the Sunfresh Linen facility at Darra, which will be held on 8 October 2014.
SEQPHA enjoys a happy working relationship with other executive housekeeper organisations including the Professional Housekeepers Association NSW (PHAN) and Victoria’s Professional Executive Housekeepers Network (PEHN).
“I would encourage all those involved in executive housekeeping, whether hotel staff or suppliers of products to hospitality facilities, to get in contact with SEQPHA,” invited Bent. She can be contacted on 0427 142 664 or emailed at melissab[at]mbdesigns.com.au
