Diversey Australia and New Zealand’s Oxivir Tb (Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide(AHP) based formulation) is now approved with the label claim “Kills SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 virus) in 1 minute”.

This new claim is in addition to the current list of virucidal, bactericidal and fungicidal claims under ARTG 164850 for Oxivir Tb Wipes (standard, large, refill wipes) and ARTG 165058 for Oxivir Tb Ready to Use (RTU) Liquid.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to our ANZ technical team who have gained TGA approvals to add this additional claim against COVID-19. This claim brings greater confidence to the various sectors we service including healthcare, hospitality, BSC and retail.”

According to Diversey, Oxivir Tb is low odour, sustainable, biodegradable yet a powerful alternative to bleach and quat based disinfectants. AHP has dual safety and efficacy profiles and should be considered for surface disinfection on high touch areas during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The active ingredient, hydrogen peroxide, breaks down to water and oxygen. The company said Oxivir Tb is patient friendly and safe for staff, while being gentle on most surfaces.

David Purnell, healthcare sector lead, Diversey Australia, said the new label claim allows healthcare staff to increase speed and effectiveness with a powerful one-step disinfectant cleaner.
