Melbourne commercial cleaning company CMC Property Services has raised more than $90,000 for its charity partner Very Special Kids at its 20th anniversary birthday gala evening that took place on Saturday 23 August in Malvern (Victoria).
More than 200 guests including CMC customers and partners, suppliers, friends and staff joined in the birthday celebrations which took place on the grounds of Very Special Kids, a charity that cares for the families of children with life threatening conditions.

CMC’s chief executive officer Paul McCann said that he was thrilled with the result. “We were hoping to achieve two key outcomes at the gala – the first was to celebrate CMC’s achievements over the past 20 years and to say thanks to our team, customers and partners,” he shared. “We also hoped to raise much needed funds for Very Special Kids through an auction, a raffle and a pledge; and I am pleased that we were able to achieve both outcomes.
“It costs $1,000 to provide one night of respite care for a child at Very Special Kids’ House. This result means that collectively, we have made it possible for more than 90 children to stay at the hospice,” he exclaimed.
Paintings, holiday packages and premium event tickets were auctioned and raffled at the anniversary event, along with a pledge to raise money for Very Special Kids. All auction and raffle items were generously donated by CMC partners, suppliers and friends.
McCann remarked that he was truly proud of the achievements on the night but also for the achievements of CMC over the past 20 years. “CMC has become a leading, respected player in the cleaning and property services industry. I have had many people congratulate me on our growth and ask how we have achieved it so quickly.
“What they don’t realise, is that the growth has taken many years of hard work from all the staff at CMC,” he revealed. “I see CMC continuing to grow and its key staff being able to grow with us.
“I honestly don’t think about the success of the company. CMC is my life and it’s just what I do. I’m most proud of the people around me at CMC rather than the actual company itself,” he said. “CMC would not be the company it is today without its long term staff.”
