The stands were as impressive as previous years with Best Stand of the show being awarded to Tennant Company. “Winning the best stand award at CleanScene 2013 is a testament to the team’s effort and creativity in highlighting Tennant’s industry-leading innovations and products,” said Zoe Tompkins, Tennant’s marketing specialist. “We are pleased to accept this award from the NSCA and CleanScene selection panel.”

Contenders and runners up were Karcher’s stand that mirrored a brightly lit, clean showroom floor and Edco’s colour-coded pyramid of mop buckets big banner, and the Edco mascot, Gary the gorilla. Special mention went to The Natural Cleaner Company stand adorned in green leafy posters and its range of 100% natural cleaning products.

Pall Mall held a competition to give away five iPads and asked event organiser Tony Francis of Informa Australia to draw the winners on the last day of the show. The lucky winners were Angela DiBiase, Nigel Beale, Tracey Alosi, Patricia Vaitiekus and Mark Serboth.

However, biggest news of the show was a decision announced by NCSA national president Stuart Nicol that the CleanScene booked for April 2014 in Melbourne will be cancelled and re-scheduled for later in the year in Sydney.  It will then be held alternatively between Sydney and Melbourne in 2014/2015.

“This Brisbane show was reasonably well attended, although not as strongly as we hoped,” commented Nicol. “But given the economic climate, overall we thought it was well represented both by exhibitors and visitors and we look forward to the new timetable for next year.”
