Cleaner dies in 25-metre fall at Gold Coast

A cleaner has died after falling about 25 metres at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre reported ABC news' website.

A cleaner has died after falling about 25 metres at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre reported ABC news’ website.

‘The Queensland Ambulance Service said the incident happened at the Broadbeach complex about 9:50am. Police said the man, aged 29, was in the roof cavity cleaning out air conditioning ducts when he fell. He died at the scene,’ stated the ABC.

Senior sergeant Angelique Maloney said the man was working for a local abseiling firm.”He had safety harnesses and full abseiling gear — he was quite experienced with abseiling and he’s been doing that for quite some time,” she said.
