The BSCAA Qld division’s new ecoClean program was officially launched by Andrew Powell, Queensland minister for the Department of Environment Heritage Protection (EHP), and the State Member for Glass House, at The Pavilion, Allan Border Field (Qld) on 28 June.

This program was developed by BSCAA Qld in conjunction with the EHP and is available to all commercial contract cleaning companies in Australia. This ‘quality assurance program’ sets the guidelines for best practices in the contract cleaning industry, and has been developed to assist all cleaning contractors to obtain certification through five easy levels:

• Compliance – Preliminary level A
• Commitment – Preliminary level B
• Implementation – ecoClean level 1
• Sustainability – ecoClean level 2
• Leadership – ecoClean level 3

Sponsors and suppliers provided a trade show of their goods and services that compliments the ecoClean program, which included Lennox Institute, Kimberly-Clark, Earth Renewable and Compliant Cleaning Supplies.

The event attendees included representatives from government agencies, facility managers, and major sponsors; AustralianSuper and Qleave Portable Long Service Authority.
