Quartz Business Media, organiser of The Cleaning Show, has launched a new event focused on resource efficiency and waste management.
Called the Resource Management Show, the event will run alongside The Cleaning Show at London’s ExCeL on 19 to 21 March 2019, offering waste and recycling suppliers the opportunity to meet contract cleaners, facilities managers, local authorities and a wide range of other cleaning and FM-related businesses.
Steve Diprose, managing director of Quartz Business Media, said there were a number of compelling reasons to launch the new event.
“After speaking to a number of our existing exhibitors, visitors and suppliers, we identified a real demand for a new event to answer current issues facing the resource management sector,” he said.
“Together with our partners, the British Cleaning Council, we found a number of compelling reasons to launch this new event: Brexit will require many companies to adapt their processes, particularly how waste management is handled in terms of trans-frontier shipments, exports and imports; the use of plastics is also a current hot topic, and a wide number of emerging technologies are being developed to break/shred/reprocess plastic materials; and Energy from Waste initiatives are continually evolving to offer effective ways of reducing landfill for many local authorities.
“Add to this new Chinese regulations, vehicles and machinery that utilise alternative fuel sources, and the increasing demand for cost-effective and environmentally friendly products across the cleaning, FM and waste management sectors and the justification for launching this event becomes very clear indeed. In addition, numerous stakeholders have commented positively about the bi-annual frequency and Spring positioning of the event. We look forward to welcoming new exhibitors and visitors in 2019.”
The Resource Management Show will be a platform for recycling and waste management equipment manufacturers and distributors, product suppliers, and other related service providers.
Stan Atkins, chair of the BCC said: “Many of our members and exhibitors are already closely involved with the waste management and recycling sectors and there are also big overlaps with the FM space where we are also very active.
“Furthermore, decision making with regards to procuring waste and resource management services is increasingly being handled by the same teams which handle commercial cleaning tenders and related frameworks.”
Exhibitors of the Resource Management Show will include bin and waste container manufacturers; street sweeping machine manufacturers; ancillary product suppliers, including brushes, scrubber driers and chemicals; protective workwear suppliers; management and monitoring software providers; and support and tracking system providers.
