A new chapter for Godfreys: Iconic vacuum brand revives online

Godfreys sweeps away the past to clean up the future!

Australian vacuum retailer Godfreys has re-emerged with a fresh start under new ownership, just a year after entering voluntary administration.

Future Innovation Holdings, which acquired the business in June last year, has introduced a revitalised vision and strategy centred on e-commerce. In a statement shared on LinkedIn, the company expressed enthusiasm about its transformation: “Who said Godfreys was gone? We’re back, stronger than ever!”

The retailer acknowledged its past hurdles but emphasised resilience and optimism. “Challenges are inevitable, but it’s how you rise that defines you,” the post read. With its new online sales platform, Godfreys aims to reintroduce iconic Australian floorcare brands, heralding a fresh era for the company. “We are excited to see what 2025 has in store.”

Before its financial difficulties, Godfreys employed approximately 600 people across 141 locations, supplemented by 28 franchise-operated stores. The company, established in 1931, grew to become a global leader in vacuum retail and a trusted supplier of floorcare and cleaning products in Australia and New Zealand.

With its renewed focus on digital channels and a commitment to its heritage, Godfreys is positioning itself to reclaim its status as a household name in floorcare.
