3M to expand PPE production

3M to invest US$58 million in the company’s Valley, Nebraska, production facility.

3M has announced plans to invest US$58 million in the company’s Valley, Nebraska, production facility.

The investment will be used to physically expand the plant by 80,000 square feet, allowing for increased production capabilities of reusable elastomeric respirators, hearing protection, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) from the company’s personal safety division.

The expansion includes new production lines, equipment, and warehouse facilities and will allow the factory to add an additional 50 new employees.

“Our colleagues at 3M’s Valley plant have played an important role providing critical supplies to frontline workers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Matt Huset, 3M plant director.

“We’re pleased to announce this investment in our growth in Nebraska which will allow us to further meet demand for personal safety equipment for the United States.”
